3 Possible Reasons Why Your Air Conditioner Makes A Lot Of Noise

Posted on: 17 August 2019

As with any other running system in your home, you can expect your air conditioning system to make at least a little bit of noise. However, if you have noticed that your air conditioner is particularly noisy, you could be wondering what is causing the noise and what you can do about it. Of course, this depends on the type of system that you have and the problem that you are having with your system. These are some of the possible reasons why your unit is making a lot of noise, though, so you may want to address these potential issues first when looking for a solution for your air conditioning problems.

1. There's Something Stuck in the Outside Unit

When you first notice that your air conditioning unit is making a noise, one of the first things that you may want to check is whether or not there is something stuck in the outside unit. In some cases, a unit can make a lot of noise for this reason, and the solution might be very simple. For example, a stick or large piece of debris might get stuck in the fan on the outside of your unit, which can cause a loud noise and prevent the fan from turning like it is supposed to. If something like this happens, just make sure that you don't harm yourself. Instead, make sure that you turn the unit off completely so that you can move the debris.

2. There's a Problem With Your Refrigeration Line

If there is a problem with your refrigeration line, this can prevent your system from working properly and can cause your unit to be loud. For example, you might hear a gurgling or hissing noise coming from your air conditioning unit, which might be a sign that there is a puncture or some other problem with your refrigeration line. Have the line checked over by a professional to see if it needs to be replaced or if there might be another refrigeration issue that you should be aware of.

3. There is a Loose Part

If one of the parts of your air conditioning system is loose, then you can expect your system to make a lot of noise. For example, if a screw needs to be tightened to help keep a fan in place, then that part might make a lot of noise until you have this done. To help you make sure that the part is secured as it should be, you may want to hire an AC repair technician to help you.

Irrigation Implementation: An Overview

When I decided to install an irrigation system in my yard, I thought it would be an easy project. I had no idea how much was really involved in the process, from connecting the sprinkler system to the main plumbing line all the way to burying the individual lines for the sprinkler heads. After researching the entire process and learning as I went, I created this site to give others the benefit of my experience. I hope that the information here helps you be better prepared for what you can expect out of your irrigation system installation, including knowing when it's time to turn to a plumber for help.
